RELATED: Life is Strange: How to Get Frank’s Keys

Where To Hide

When David starts knocking and the player is given control of Max, turn around. The player will have two options: hide under the bed or in the closet. Since Max can’t fit under the bed, the closet along the wall opposite the window is her only remaining option; however, opening the closet causes a lamp to tumble over and block your path in.

Rewinding To The Start

At this point, use Max’s time powers to rewind as far as she can and look at the lamp. She will now have the option to move the lamp before opening the closet door and can hide successfully.

The Major Choice (Spoilers Ahead)

The major choice in this chapter revolves around whether Max takes the blame for Chloe’s weed or not.

Max Didn’t Hide From David

If the player chooses not to hide at all, Chloe will blame Max for the weed and the player will be asked to accept the blame or place the blame on Chloe.

Max Successfully Hid From David

If Max manages to hide, Chloe will not blame her and the player will have the more altruistic option of revealing themselves and taking the blame or remaining hidden.

Choices and Consequences

Taking the blame in both cases results in largely the same consequences; Chloe will stay in a good mood and will show Max the stolen gun, but Max may be left with a permanent stain on her Blackwell record.

Staying hidden will make Chloe a little upset, and she won’t show Max her new toy. Meanwhile, putting the blame back on Chloe will make her furious and she’ll storm out of the room. Either of these options lets Max off the hook, despite whatever David says, though they will have an effect on Max and Chloe’s relationship going forward.

Remember to Rewind

Even if the player manages to make Chloe this upset with Max, on this occasion they can rewind even further back than the spiral dictates, right back to when David starts knocking on the door, giving them the chance to hide if they want to. A full list of the series-long consequences of these choices can be found here.
