There are two major decisions that will decide if players will romance either Steph or Ryan in Life is Strange: True Colors, but there are also optional choices that can expand the build-up to the romance. These cute exchanges won’t change anything, but they do make Alex and Steph’s relationship appear more organic and should put a smile on any fan’s face.

How to Romance Steph in Life is Strange: True Colors
Required Choices to Romance Steph
There are two important decisions in Life is Strange: True Colors that players must make to ensure they enter a romance with Steph: give her a rose, and kiss her on top of the rooftop during the Haven Spring Festival.
Both of these decisions are made during Chapter 4 of Life is Strange: True Colors. While exploring after talking with Steph and Ryan at the festival, head to the rose cart. Then head to Steph in the van, left of the stage. There will now be a ‘Rose’ prompt, which will trigger a scene between the two. Steph will then say she wants to meet Alex on the rooftop later.
Continue enjoying the festival activities, and Steph will invite Alex to the rooftop after Alex performs on stage and has a scene with Charlotte by the lake. A different scene will play depending on whether Alex decided to take Charlotte’s anger or leave her alone. After this conversation, go to the rooftop where Steph will try and convince Alex to leave Haven with her, which will lead to a choice to hug Steph or kiss her. Kiss her if players want to enter a romance.
Optional Steph Romance Choices
These are optional dialogue choices and decisions that unlock extra Steph romance scenes. They are small interactions and won’t change anything major. Make sure to check Alex’s phone to see texts and MyBlock messages that could involve Steph and Alex.
(Chapter 1) Talk to Steph at the bar and play the jukebox game with her. (Chapter 2) While helping Steph in Chapter 2, tell her Alex is attracted to women (or both men and women) while playing foosball. (Chapter 2) Make sure to visit Steph at the record store. (Chapter 3) When given the option to choose Steph or Ryan as the distraction, go with Steph. (Chapter 3) During the LARP while visiting Steph at the record store, listen to her thoughts before speaking with her. Then while bargaining for the soul gem, offer Alex’s hand in marriage (and listen to Steph’s thoughts after). (Chapter 4) Use Alex’s powers in Life is Strange: True Colors to read Steph’s feelings after giving her the rose. (Chapter 5) Stay in Haven or seek adventure with Steph if Alex kissed her on the rooftop during the Spring Festival.
