The decision to either take Charlotte’s anger or leave her alone in Chapter 3 of Life is Strange: True Colors has big ramifications in later chapters. It’s one of the few choices in the game that actually has a ‘right’ option, if players are trying to get the best ending they can in the game.

What Happens if Alex takes Charlotte’s Anger?

Without spoiling later events too much, if Alex takes Charlotte’s anger away in Life is Strange: True Colors, Alex will get angry at her friends Steph and Ryan later in the chapter, which affects her relationship with them later. Everything will seem fine with Charlotte to begin with, but when reencountered in later chapters, she will appear drained of her emotions.

There is also an important story event in Chapter 5, and if Charlotte has had her anger taken, she won’t stand up for Alex during this scene. Unless players want to experience all of the decisions in the story content of Life is Strange: True Colors, it is not recommended to pick this option.

What Happens if Alex Leaves Charlotte Alone?

Although leaving Charlotte alone may have players feeling helpless, it is the best option to pick because of its positive consequences in later chapters. Alex will not get angry at Steph and Ryan, and Charlotte will have all of her emotions when players come across her again.

It’s also one of the most important decisions in Life is Strange: True Colors because Charlotte will stand up for Alex during a key moment in Chapter 5. Leaving Charlotte alone is the best decision to make for both story outcome and character development.

Alex shows restraint in using her supernatural power in the Life is Strange universe, learning a valuable lesson while maintaining a good relationship with her friends and keeping Charlotte’s emotions intact. If players want to see exactly how each scenario plays out or pick up some missed Memory collectibles, they can repeat chapters and scenes from the main menu.

Life is Strange: True Colors is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and will release later for Switch.
